The iron ore used in this study was ludwigite ore, a typical sulfur-containing iron ore in China. The main chemical composition of iron ore is listed in Table 1. Figure 1 shows that the sulfur was mainly present in the form of pyrrhotite (Fe 7 S 8). The average particle size of iron ore was 23.51 μm.
